Egg Hunt
Today the boys had WAY TOO MUCH FUN at their egg hunt with their pals!! It started with hunting eggs, then lunch, more play time, changing clothes and then getting covered in sand! And of course we couldn't end there....Ewan snuck a pb chocolate egg, wrapper and all...so he gagged on the wrapper and drooled all over his "clean" shirt!!!!

Children's Garden
We had some fun this morning at the Children's Garden. I was really hoping to get some other pictures....they have some gorgeous cherry trees in bloom right now. Unfortunately it is part of an experimental orchard and public access is denied. I would have snuck in, but the groundskeepers were working there. Oh well, hopefully some other day!

Silly Goose and Happy Camper
I had every intention of taking the boys to the State House to take pictures today, but after throwing up this morning, dropping a gallon of milk on the kitchen floor and visiting Oma I just didn't have the energy. So here are some shots of the boys with their favorite plates.
Oma brought the plates back from her trip to Seattle. The boys LOVE them, they had to carry them in the car on the way home after Oma gave them to us. If I get them out too soon before the meal they take them off the counter and walk around with them!! Needless to say they are a hit. And they are a hit with Mommy and Daddy too....Oma obeyed the no toys rule!! Yeah Oma. Well she already knew full well that they boys don't need anything.
What can I say, we're just not like most parents. We try to minimize the toys, especially toy clutter. If I see one more stuffed animal I feel like I could rip it apart (and I used to collect them when I was a kid)!!! Oh well, at least Josh and I agree on this issue. The problem now is actually Easter. They really should get something in their baskets but don't NEED anything. Luckily we've come up with a few acceptable ideas.
Ok, that's my toy rant. Sorry I got off on a tangent....can you tell I just cleaned up toys?!

Get Well Oma!!!
This morning Oma had her surgery...and boy was it longer than planned. Oma doesn't do anything halfway...seems it was about the worst case of appendicitis the surgeon had seen, he called in another surgeon to help out!! As it turns out, the appendix was indeed ruptured, and probably for some time. The surgeon couldn't believe she wasn't in more pain or showing more symptons. Oma is indeed a medical mystery!!! She was not running a fever, was not in pain, white cell count was only slightly off....
Needless to say we're all thrilled she made it through surgery and it didn't get any worse. The appendix was twisted all around and infection everywhere so it really could have been worse. Not to say it wasn't bad, but she will be all right. It was obviously major surgery though so she'll be in the hospital for a few days and recovery may take a while given the abdominal incision. We'll do our best to help her out. The boys keep asking to see their Oma!!
GET WELL OMA!!!!
More to come tomorrow....pics of the boys at the park today. Weather as BEAUTIFUL!!

Hopes of a Peanut Dashed....
I pretty much expected D3 to be another BIG baby, but there was always the hope of getting a little peanut in the back of our minds. Well today that hope was put to rest. I had another ultrasound this morning and D3 is already measuring big!! Neither of the boys measured big until MUCH later, closer to the end. It's not just that D3 is measuring big, but it's the feet!! That's right, you heard me, FEET. The nurse was trying to check everything out and came upon D3's feet. She said she has NEVER seen feet that big, and D3 is only 12+ weeks. Oh my goodness are we in for another monster child??!!
In other funny news of the day, Ewan enjoyed his first time on the potty. NO, I'm not trying to train him yet. He gets extremely jealous when Jack goes potty. This morning after Jack pooped Ewan could only be calmed by trying it himself. So I took of his diaper and put him on the potty. He immediately said "go poopy" AND asked for a book!!! It was just too cute for words!!! Needless to say he didn't poop, but it was so cute and funny.

Ahoy Matey!!
The pirate exhibit opened today at the State Museum so we all headed over for some fun. Jack kept asking about the pirates the whole ride there...then when he saw people in costume he was a little taken aback! He got over it and they both had lots of fun.
Afterwards we headed to Cafe Strudel for lunch. It was yummy as always. I let Jack pick out the dessert for everyone to share. Quite a big job since it all looks so great....he opted for the Black Forest Cherry Cake...or as he called it the "whipped cream cake". He does so like whipped cream!!!!
It was another glorious day in South Carolina....we enjoyed a beautiful walk after dinner. A welcome break from all the laundry....time to wash all the boys' spring/summer clothes and the maternity clothes!!! Such fun playing clothes bingo here at Chez Dalrymple!!!

Ah, Life is Good When....
someone will pull you around the neighborhood until you fall asleep!!! The weather was GORGEOUS yesterday so the boys and I enjoyed plenty of outside playtime. Ewan nodded off on the walk...this is him right after we got home, not quite awake yet!!!

St. Pat's
Saturday morning we took the boys to St. Pat's in Five Points. They LOVED the parade and the children's play area. Those were the most tame and child appropriate areas!! The play area was muddy, even more fun for boys who love to get dirty! Jack enjoyed the inflatable slide and all three guys went on a ride together. The boys also enjoyed the petting zoo. Fun was had by all, esecially since the weather was absolutely gorgeous!
Sunday we got the boys a new wagon. They seem to get a kick out of riding together. It helps to keep Jack contained at times!! Yesterday the boys and I went on a playdate at the zoo. Once again the weather was beautiful. We even saw almost all the animals....and especially the new baby giraffe. The four week old baby was making his public debut and we caught it....unfortunately I didn't have the camera with me. Oh well!

Small Sigh of Relief
Today's post isn't about the boys, but rather about one of their best buds, Oma. We've been a little worried about her lately. Oma hasn't been feeling quite like herself lately and recently saw the doctor. First guess was gallstones (though she doesn't even have a gall bladder)! Well that wasn't it. So yesterday she had a CAT scan to check out the rest of her organs. Unfortuately they didn't give her the results right away...and she was leaving today for Seattle. So since they didn't tell her right away she was dying off she went to Seattle to visit Nick.
Today she got a hold of the doctor's office.........she has appendicitis!! Well given all the different things it could have been we all decided this wasn't too bad. Of course they told her to see the surgeon right away...not possible since she's in Seattle! So she has an appt to see him the Monday after she gets back (about 1.5 weeks from now). In the meantime she'll just make sure to go straight to the ER should she start feeling sick. Nick is probably disappointed. He has all kinds of restaurants to take her and yet Oma just doesn't have any appetite!
So we're relieved it isn't anything worse. We'll feel better once she gets through surgery. The boys just might have some get well crafts to do in their near future!!

Fire Station Fun
Saturday the boys went to a birthday party at a local fire station and had a ton of fun. They loved the truck of course, but also enjoyed the kitchen....especially the recliners by the TV!! Already little men I guess!!!
Not much else new here. I still feel miserable most of the time. The nausia this time around is definitely worse than either pregnancy before this. We're also enjoying having Daddy home again. It's so nice to have an extra set of hands and somebody to look after the boys if I need an escape.
We're still waiting for nice weather here. It has warmed up sometimes and then cools off again just as quickly. It's horrible!! I miss my South Carolina weather. We're jealous of Oma and Opa right now...off enjoying themselves in Palm Springs!!!
