Tidbits

Life remains rather busy here.  Sunday we enjoyed our anniversary.  Of course it got a little busy, unplanned event anyway.  As we sat down to lunch we got a call from a realtor wanting to show the house.  Our first call ever!!!  FINALLY!!  So we finished lunch and had 1.5 hours to blitz clean the house.  We pulled it off pretty well.

We took the boys to the Children's Garden and had a fun time playing there.  By the time we got home it was time for a late nap, but of course they all put up a fight.  By the time everyone was sleeping it was quite late.  Josh and I even managed to have all of 3 minutes of quiet for dinner before the first guy woke up.  Josh made some yummy shrimp and grits.  Jack and Ewan liked it too, well after fussing some (mainly because they just woke up and were still grumpy).

Friday the boys had their Easter egg hunt with our playgroup.  I'll have to get photos of that up soon.

Tomorrow for my birthday I'll be taking the troops to the gym and then we need to hang somewhere.  We've got a realtor walkthrough at the house in the morning so need to be gone.  Hopefully someday we'll sell this place.  And better yet hopefully we'll find something too!

That about sums it up.  Busy keeping things clean, doing laundry, keeping the boys out of trouble...  This weekend we were going to go to the mountains but decided to stay home.  Too much to do...time to paint the hallway neutral, plus the usual mowing the lawn, tilling the garden and endless de-cluttering.

Country Adventures

Yesterday the troops and I went to Country Adventures for a playdate.  It's just a couple miles away and an awesome outdoor petting zoo type place.  Sean enjoyed his first hay ride and of course Jack and Ewan LOVED it too.  We've been there several times before, though I think this may have been the first time in the spring.  Needless to say we had a great time!

Busy Season

April is a busy month for us....our anniversary, several birthdays including mine and my father-in-law's, Easter.....  The weather is warming up which means changing wardrobes, which of course means laundry and attempting to put things away and organize.  All of this takes time that I don't have!!  Oh well, have no fear, the boys aren't running around naked!!

Somehow seven years have flown by since Josh and I got married.  Seven years and three kids later we're still married!!  Where does the time go?  And how can I possibly be turning 38 next week??!!  That just doesn't seem possible!  Somehow birthdays are the same as an adult, especially once you are a parent.  I certainly don't get the day off.  Luckily my mom is in town and she'll make my dinner and cupcakes (well the night before anyway).  Otherwise it would be a day like any other...watching the boys, feeding the boys, fixing three meals a day and cleaning up after all that!  And presents, who gets anything fun anymore?!  It's not like a NEED much.  This year I'll be getting my dining room chairs.  Not exactly exciting, but something we need.  The older you get the more expensive the taste and the less the need for anything.  That's probably why my grandparents never got anything for any holiday really.  And for that matter my parents don't get/want much either.  Just time with the kiddos....I'd rather get time away from them!!  It's not that I don't want much, I just want big ticket items!  And Josh, we he doesn't need much either, except major fashion help!!!!!  If I had the time I'd go through his closet and get rid of all the nasty t-shirts.  Whoever made them in adult sizes??  Not a good look.  If only I could train him to not wear them out of the house, but I suppose if I haven't done it in seven years it isn't looking good!

Just some musings from an aging mama for the day!!!

New Photo

Notice the new photo at the top.  I've been meaning to put it up for some time now but never seem to find the time as it meant using the computer in the bonus room!  Anyway, here it is, my three handsome hunks.  Karen Johnson took this back in March, we do so LOVE her work.  She just took the pics of the boys with Emmie M too and they are FABULOUS!!  Sorry I won't be posting them though, not getting digital files.  So ya'll just have to come visit to see them, except of course Emmie M who is getting some for her birthday and Oma too.  Just picture the boys looking all adorable in front of Oma's yard (azaleas in full bloom, hmmm just like some of my wedding pictures)!

Charleston

Saturday after Emmie M's departure we headed to Charleston for an airshow.  The kiddos napped on the way down which was nice.  It was a rather hot day at home, but when we arrived in Charleston it was quite a bit cooler.   As we drove into town Josh and I saw the Thunderbirds fly over, just finishing the show.

We checked into the hotel and settled in.  Jack and Ewan were extremely full of energy so we found a park.  They had a great time playing, but were still full of it!  It was getting rather cool and we only had shorts!  We headed out to find a place for dinner.  Thanks to modern technology we found a place nearby with good seafood (as per reviews we found on yelp on my phone)....gps got us there....and it was out of business!  So we drove around a little to find something else and Sean started screaming.  Finally we got desperate and stopped at the next place we saw.  Turned out to be a great new place, grand opening isn't even until later this week.  We had a lovely seafood platter.

Got back to the hotel and settled in again.  We made everyone's beds (Sean in pack n play and big boys sharing the sleeper sofa).  FINALLY the boys went to sleep and we got on the internet.  We were checking the schedule for the airshow to plan the day...............turns out the airshow was Satuday only.  That's right, we missed it!!!!!!!!!!  I KNOW I CHECKED THE SCHEDULE AND IT SAID SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.  I knew we couldn't go Saturday since Emmie M was leaving that morning.  We'll never know what happened....we just missed it somehow.  Josh will tell this story the rest of our lives I'm sure!

After breakfast Sunday (mind you Sean was up a 5:45 already, big boys not much later) we packed up and headed out.  We stopped at Target to get the boys some swim trunks since we didn't pack them.  Then it was off to town.  We parked and took the trolley in which Jack and Ewan LOVED!  We walked down to the waterfront park and the boys tried to strip right away to play in the fountain.  We informed them they would have to wait, it was still a little chilly out.  After walking around and having fun it was time to eat.

Lunch was an adventure to say the least.  We wound up at Bubba Gump since Jestine's had a HUGE line.  As soon as we got there I took to the bathroom to change his diaper...when I returned I immediately had to take Ewan potty, Jack said he didn't need to go.  Well when I got back Jack decided he had to go.  So three bathroom trips later I FINALLY got to sit down and sip some iced tea and look at the menu!  We  sat outside and enjoyed ourselves.  The boys were still full of energy to keeping them entertained was tricky.  Luckily there were some kiddo tables and toys there to help out!  It was a long meal....MANY more potty trips and another diaper change, bottle feeding.....  Changed the boys into their trunks and headed back to the waterfront.

We got back to the park and the fountain was turned off.  WHY???  How dare they!!  Luckily there was another fountain at the park and the boys were off!  They had a BLAST!!  The could have played forever.  Jack pitched a fit when it was time to go.  The water was cold but somehow they didnt' care, didn't even shiver at all!!

Then it was back to the trolley and drive home.  Quite a long weekend!  The boys had tons of fun, Mom and Dad not so much.  It was fun watching them enjoy themselves though...just not fun keeping them out of trouble and entertained.

Here are a few pics...we took a couple hundred!!!

Emmie M is here!!!!!

The boys have been over the moon excited since their Emmie M arrived Tuesday.  It started when they went with Oma to pick her up at the airport and hasn't stopped since.  They sleep less as they wonder when they will see her next!!!  Ewan didn't even want her to go potty by herself yesterday which caused a scene at Sandhills....just picture Emmie M tripping while chasing Ewan as he is running into traffic.

I hardly have a moment to breath lately so wont' write much, hope to catch up some day.  Let's just say the kiddos are having way too much fun with their Emmie M and will miss here terribly when she leaves tomorrow.  If only she didn't still work...she'd be here ALL THE TIME!

They are resting now, after much trouble of course.  Time to get beauty rest before their photo shoot with Emmie M this afternoon!!!

My proud Packer Backers with their cheeseheads!

Zoo day today!

Save me now....

Many of you frequently ask how I do it with three little guys.  Most days aren't too bad, but let's just say it's been INSANE lately.  Let's start with last Friday.  I'm sure I'll forget some of the details, it's probably better that way or I'd truly go completely insane!!

We were already off to a bad start in the morning.  Ewan decided to sleep in, well that means til about 7:30 or so.  He was rather slow eating his breakfast and finally I had to take it away from him so we could get ready to go.  We had to drop off Cosmo at the groomer's by 8:30.  So I got the big boys ready and then picked up Sean who was already good to go, or so I thought.  He was on his quilt on the floor and when I picked him up I saw a MESS!!  He had a massive blowout that went through his dipe, pants, onesie and cardigan and onto the quilt too!

Somehow we managed to get him changed and drop off Cosmo on time.  Luckily I'm a little OCD about being on time and had some cushion built into our schedule.  After dropping Cosmo off the boys and I went to the gym.  We arrived early and the boys had their snacks in the lobby.  It was a lovely time, great workout (burned 600 calories on the elliptical and did weights) PLUS I got a shower and shave with no interruptions.  Such luxuries!!  When I went to get the boys Sean just did another blowout so I changed him and his clothes.

All this before noon!!!  So we get home and all have lunch.  This, for a change, went well.  Then the boys play in their room while I finish decluttering and tidy up as the new realtor and photographer are coming at 4 to take pictures of the house.  While I vacuum downstairs Ewan pees on his floor !  One more thing to clean up.

We head out of the house by about 1:30 and head to Oma's house.  With pictures at 4 we needed to nap elsewhere since Sean is usually still asleep at 4.  I give Sean his bottle and eventually he goes down for his nap.  The big boys of course had no plans of napping at Oma's, too much fun to have.  I take Jack and Ewan to the grocery to pick up a few things and then we go pick up Cosmo and head back to Oma's.  Sean is still napping and Ewan fell asleep in the car.  I manage to carry Ewan up and put him in bed, still asleep.  So two take naps, pretty good I guess.  Then I took Jack out back and ran all over with him to wear him out a little.  He has a snack.  Sean gets up, I change him and feed him.  Then I hear him with another diahrrea.  While I change him on the floor he pees on Oma's rug!  FINALLY he is clean and we feed the big boys.  Then it's already time to leave....drop off all the boys at the church for date night.  I'm a few minutes late but thrilled to drop them off.  Then I take the groceries and Cosmo home and leave to meet Josh at the reastuarnt.

Date night started a little later than we would have liked since Josh got held up at work and I had to drop Cosmo at home....it was complete nonstop madness since 8:15 that morning!!!  It was so nice to sit down to dinner with NO KIDDOS!!!  Then we went to the store to pick up a couple things, I picked up the kids and met Josh at home.  WHAT A DAY!!!!!

Could it get worse...well yet it can!!  Saturday started out very nice, kids slept well and we had a wonderful breakfast together.  Josh was going to put a coat of finish on the chairs and then we were going to go look at land to maybe build a house.  After breakfast I finished feeding Sean and he had a blowout while I was holding him!  So I'm dirty and he's dirty.  I took him upstairs to change him and it was the worst thing I have EVER seen.....absolutely everywhere.  I managed to get his clothes and diaper off but he was covered....used wipes to clean it off his ears of all places.  Just imagine the mess!!!  Luckily Josh was home and we tag teamed in the tub...I help Sean up while Josh hosed him off!  When I came downstairs after changing Sean Josh was on the phone with work....he was going to have to go in.  So there go our plans.  Once again I'm stuck with all the kids and I really needed a break from them.

Luckily the weather was nice to the troops and I headed to the zoo.  We had a lovely time, as did everyone else...it was quite crowded since the weather was so nice.  Jack and Ewan were playing on the playground there when Ewan informed me he had to go poop...well I could smell it and indeed he had already gone in his pants.  As if I hadn't already dealt with enough crap that morning!!!  Then Josh called and he was on his way home, turned out to be a false alarm and he drove to work for nothing.  We all had lunch at home.

After a while we headed out to go look at the land.  This actually went well, everyone took naps of varying lengths in the car.  The two lots we went to look at were OK, but we drove around some more and found some great locations in horse country.  Found some houses way out of budget, but also piece of land that may be for sale.  We picked up  a pizza on the way home and once again it was a busy day!!

AND IT GOT WORSE....Sean was up at 4:45 Sunday morning.  I got up, changed him and fed him.  He was quite hungry.  Then while he was playing on the floor I heard that lovely noise, change his diaper again.  Washed my hands and less than 10 seconds after I sat down I heard it again!  Change his diaper AGAIN and sit down again.  Managed to do a little on the internet before I finally heard that noise AGAIN, that's right, 3 episodes of diahrrea in about 30 minutes.  He did at least go back to bed shortly after that.  I got to sleep a little too before everyone else got up.  Went to get Sean after he woke up and you guessed it, more mess in his bed.  This time I called Daddy, his turn!

The morning was pretty uneventful except for of course all the laundry.  Then  we had a picnic at the park and played for a while.  Everyone napped well after that!  Luckily the rest of the day was all right, a few more dirty diapers but no disasters and plenty of play time outside!

Then this morning Sean woke up to a mess in his crib AGAIN!  More laundry and more messes to clean, yeah me.  Got everyone fed and cancelled our appt at the gym.  Called the doc and made an appt for Sean there.  Of course we arrived at the office early, thank goodness.  Got Sean out of his seat and he finally managed to do it....a mess in his car seat!  So I changed him in the back of the car while Jack and Ewan had their yogurt smoothie drinks.  Well Ewan managed to spill his all over his shorts and car seat straps.  More mess!  Changed his shorts and we were off.  As I suspected the doc couldn't tell us much.  Likely a virus and hopefully nearly done.  If not better in two days come on back.  We get home and I discover Ewan peed in his car seat.  So now I've got two car seat covers to wash.  I'M SO SICK OF LAUNDRY AND MESSES!!!!!!!!

Luckily Oma saved the day and watched Sean while I took Jack and Ewan to the gym.  I needed my alone time to workout and it was wonderful.  Now it's back to my life that I'd rather forget about right now!

So there you have it....that's a few hectic days in the life of a mom of three boys ages 3 and under!!  Not pretty right now.  Thank goodness it isn't always like this!!

Runt

Last night we got accurate measurement of Sean....and he is the run in the bunch!!  How could that be, the biggest one born is now the smallest at 6 months??!!  Sean weighed 18lb 9oz (which the doc's office had right, but the percentage is 75, NOT 20) and was 28 inches long (90-95%).  So he's dropped off in length and weight. Ewan still holds the record for 6 months, longest and heaviest by far!!  He may be my gentle giant!!   We'll see if the trend continues.  Sean certainly doesn't like eating....sees a spoon coming and clamps his mouth shut!!

Time to enjoy the rest of my quiet time before the troops get up!!  We'll be rushed this morning....drop off Cosmo for her grooming appt by 8:30 and then off to the gym.
