ER Trip Number Two

Well we finally had another ER trip, this time with Jack.  It was bound to happen sooner or later with these three boys!

Monday night the boys were showing off all their cool stuff to Mr. Dan (some day I'll have time to update about their visit).  After dinner we went out to the zip line.  Opa put Jack up and we all wished him luck.  Then came the big crash instead of a steady landing.  Opa did not reset the tennis balls at the end (why would he, he did not know).  Josh and I did not think to check.  So Jack crashed hard at the end and was unable to hold on.  He crashed down hard on the ground.

The screaming was immediate.  After trying to calm him, cleaning the blood and assessing the damage with the help of Nurse Emmie M, Josh and I took Jack to the ER around 7:30.  Oma, Opa, Mr. Dan and Emmie M stayed home with Sean and Ewan.

Jack was a trooper.  We took his Leap Pad and he played some games with Daddy while we waited.  He was nervous, as to be expected.  To make a long story short he survived, just barely.  He had to be wrapped and help by two people while another game him stitches (his two top teeth went through the lower lip and came out just below the lip).  He screamed and cried a lot.  I can't blame it.  I cried a little too.

We got home shortly before 10PM.  He got in his pjs, came downstairs and sat with Mommy and Daddy.  He went to bed a very tired boy.

The next morning I had to call the dentist.  This whole crash pushed on of his teeth up.  We got an appointment at 10AM.  Oma came to watch Ewan and Sean (she was already coming later since I had an appointment at noon).  Jack did well again.  He had his first x-ray.  He did his best to stand very still for the pan x-ray.  The dentist saw a questionable spot and referred us to the pediatric dentist for fear a tooth may need to come out.  Another appointment at 2:30 now!

We went home, I had a snack and then headed to my appointment.  I survived, went home and had a few minutes before Jack and I had to leave again.  Once again he did very well.  They took a couple more x-rays.  He has a nerve fracture on his front tooth.  It is not loose.  So far so good.  They will follow up in three weeks, but hopefully he will be fine.

So that is how we spend the beginning of the week.  Four doctors in less than 24 hours!!  We got home from the dentist Tuesday afternoon and had to frost Emmie M's birthday cake!!!  I'll update on her birthday later.  I'm still recovery from all the chaos.

Needless to say Jack is having a few problems eating and some words come out sounding funny!  Today we go back to the ER to get the stitches removed.

These pictures are taken the following morning (Tuesday).

Poor little guy fell asleep on the couch Tuesday before dinner.
Rough night and day.  Wish I could have nodded off too!!
