Train Museum

This morning the boys enjoyed themselves at the train museum here in Bowling Green.  The museum part wasn't too exciting to them, other than the model trains.  They did, however, love the tour of the real train.  They have several cars from the L&N line.  We toured the presidential, sleep, dining and mail cars.  It was quite nice.  Jack at first didn't want to get on....pitched a fit and cried "I don't like train"!!  Eventually he got over it and had fun.

Day Trip to Nashville

This morning we went to the Nashville Zoo.  It is FABULOUS!!!  Wish our zoo was that nice.  They had so many cool animals and the scenery was gorgeous. The boys had tons of fun. We didn't even see all the animals.  The boys and I may have to go back soon.  The playground there was great too....

After the zoo we had some great german food for lunch...and beer for Daddy!!

Lookout at the meerkat exhibit!!

Way cool!!

Retirement Fund

No need to be an athlete anymore...Jack is going to fund our retirement by being the next Calvin Klein underwear model!!!

Can't remember anymore what it was, but there was something the boys just had to see out  the window!

Adventures in Kentucky

The boys and I are tagging along with Daddy during a two week business trip to Bowling Green, KY.  We decided the boys would rather go along that miss Daddy for that long.  Plus this way I still get help with the boys at night.

Some people have had the nerve to call this vacation.  Rest assured this is NOT vacation!!   Between the sleep deprivation, attempting to childproof a hotel room, entertaining the boys in a SMALL town and just plain old surviving this is the furthest thing from vacation.  I fondly remember vacation and it is far more relaxing, involves seeing some fun sights, enjoying good restaurants....  Our last vacation was actually with a child...baby Jack and pregnant with Ewan.  Thanks to Oma and Opa we enjoyed a wonderful vacation at Glacier National Park (they took us and Uncle Nick there for Oma's 60th birthday bash).  So vacation is possible with kids, it just takes extra help!!!  I am so looking forward to our next vacation, again thanks to Oma and Opa (their 40th anniversary bash).  Hopefully D3 won't ruin it (just weeks before delivery)!!!

Anyway, we're surviving right now. The boys both got colds shortly after we got here.  That means Ewan is coughing at night which means less sleep!!  We got a humidifer which helped, but still no real good sleep yet. We're on a totally different schedule too since the boys and I take Daddy to work at 6:30 AM.  That means they are getting up earlier than they are used to, also staying up a little later.  Needless to say they nap almost right after lunch now!!

We found a fun park and we'll got there again this afternoon.  This weekend we'll find some more fun stuff to do with Daddy.  Otherwise there isn't a whole lot to do for just me and the boys.

In the meantime it's pure exhaustion and survival mode around here!!!

Easter

We had a fun Easter weekend.  The boys enjoyed a visit from their grandparents and had lots of fun.

Jack and Ewan were thrilled the bunny came to visit and were quick to see what was in their baskets.  They also enjoyed another egg hunt in their yard.  The weather was gorgeous again so we brought out the water table.  Both boys had a blast with that!!!  They also had fun during a short visit with Oma and Opa.

Egg Hunt

Today the boys had WAY TOO MUCH FUN at their egg hunt with their pals!!  It started with hunting eggs, then lunch, more play time, changing clothes and then getting covered in sand!  And of course we couldn't end there....Ewan snuck a pb chocolate egg, wrapper and all...so he gagged on the wrapper and drooled all over his "clean" shirt!!!!

Children's Garden

We had some fun this morning at the Children's Garden.  I was really hoping to get some other pictures....they have some gorgeous cherry trees in bloom right now.  Unfortunately it is part of an experimental orchard and public access is denied.  I would have snuck in, but the groundskeepers were working there.  Oh well, hopefully some other day!
