Yesterday our dear sweet Ewan had his 15 month well visit. Time does fly by quickly!! He did fine until we put him on the exam table. Anybody who knows Ewan knows that he doesn't like to be laid down on his back....so he pitched a fit and never recovered. They measured him to be 32 inches....but since 3 months ago he was 32 3/4 inches is was definitely inaccurate! I'll try to measure him again this week. He weighed 25 lb 2 oz (I'll check last time, but I think that's pretty much the same weight, just a little taller). And then the little guy had to suffer through 3 shots. So he spent the rest of the day fussy, between the teething and shots he was miserable.
As most of you know by now.....we have another update. D3 is on the way. That's right, I'm pregnant again. The due date is October 2, though it will likely be mid to late September since it's another c-section and our babies are so big! So for a month or so we'll have three kids under three!!! Question our sanity??? We're looking forward to another little one....and Jack already says he wants a little sister. We'll just have to wait and see what we can do about that. Somehow I don't think he knows exactly what is going on anyway!
So that's all our news, big though it may be. I'm thrilled this is Josh's last week out of town for a while.....between the nausia and extreme fatigue of early pregnacy and the boys being full of energy, I'm absolutely drained by the end of the day!

Random Updates
Just a few random updates on the gang.....Jack continues to be SUCH A TWO YEAR OLD!!! That child is giving me a run for my money, I'm exhausted! We continue to search for the sucessful discipline method that will work for him!
Jack had his first trip to the dentist the other day. Overall he did pretty well. After a meltdown in the waiting room (I think he thought he was going by himself with the hygenist) he was good. He let the hygenist brush his teeth (cleaning them was out of the question), and he LOVED the water gun and "Mr. Thirsty" (the tool that sucks the water out of your mouth). So after going through all that he apparently didn't want to open wide and let the dentist simply count his teeth. It took some convincing but he finally did. He was happy to pick out two presents before leaving the office!!!
Ewan is growing right before our very eyes. He is talking more and more every day. Some of his favorite words are cracker, tractor, dog, Hi Dada, and cheese. He now likes the phone....when he sees me on it he starts saying "hi Dada" and wants to hold the phone!! We're all looking forward to Daddy coming home tonight!!
Ewan is also working on getting his eye teeth. So the drools works are in full swing!! One of his eye teeth has been in for a while and another tooth is now trying to come down on top of it...that should be an adventure.
We enjoyed a fun visit with Uncle Nick. The boys had fun playing with him and showing off. They do so love a good audience. Unfortunately we didn't take too many picures, we'll upload a few soon enough.
The weather is finally going to warm up a little...we're all so sick of this cold crap. Yes, I know it's not nearly as bad as many other places, but it is cold for here. We're all ready for spring!!

Snow, Day Two
It continued to snow all night and looked absolutely beautiful this morning. We knew it wouldn't last long so we got out and had some great fun!! Of course Wal-Mart didn't have any sleds, after all it is South Carolina and everything is spring merchandise now anyway. So after bagels at Panera (thankfully open and not crowded) we headed to the Children's Garden area to sled. It was the only hill we could think of...worked relatively well but still not steep enough to maintain speed all the way down.
Ewan is upset after falling face first in the snow!!!!
Jack seems to enjoy being hit with a snowball!!!!
Snow, Day One
Yesterday late afternoon it began to SNOW in South Carolina!! YEAH!!! Even better, Josh made it home before it got too bad. We took the boys out in the snow to play and of course they LOVED it!! Jack and Ewan have both seen snow before (last year), but it's unlikely either of them remember it. So it was great fun for everyone. Jack really enjoyed eating snow and they both liked sledding down the front yard on our makeshift sled.

Complete Madness
It's a madhouse around here. We are in week two of Josh being out of town (home over weekends though) and I'm just barely surviving. The boys are absolutely WILD!! Well, it's more like Ewan is still himself (absolutely adorable and relatively well behaved), Jack is missing Daddy terribly and acting out. The other day I wasn't sure I would make it to bedtime. I actually put them down a little early because I just couldn't handle them anymore (probably didn't help that Jack refused to nap that day)! Yesterday was much better though and today Jack is with Oma picking up Uncle Nick at the airport so it's just me and Ewan for a while. MUCH BETTER!!!
What lovely capers have we had lately....pooping on the carpet (Jack has NEVER done this before), complete ignoring of nearly every single house rule, yelling at the top of his lungs at the dinner table with Oma and Opa, refusal to nap, refusing to go to bed at night unless I stay until he falls asleep, constantly hitting and pushing Ewan.... enought to drive anybody crazy. I'm absolutly exhausted!!
The good news is Jens is visiting from Germany (arrived yesterday) and Uncle Nick arrives this morning. They will keep the boys distracted and entertained. Jack has been talking about Uncle Nick coming for about a month now!!
I haven't really taken many pictures lately but here are a few from a playdate at out house Monday...everyone enjoyed decorating Valentine's cookies (and of course eating them)!! Who knows how many Jack snuck...I caught him with several I didn't give him!!! There will be more photos soon as I'm sure we'll take some while Uncle Nick is here and we've got another big family photo shoot Saturday with the whole gang....if only it would warm up a little bit!!!

Round Two
This morning I had my fitness orientation at the gym at 8AM...before the day care center opened. So Oma came over at 7:45 to watch the boys and she would bring them to the gym at 9 when I was done. Then I put them in day care for a short while to let them test it out. Well that was the plan.
My session went well and I look forward to using all the equipment...however, the boys aren't cooperating with me!! I should say Jack isn't cooperating. I took them into the room and gave Jack a special treat to help ease him into it...he already started getting nervous at the hint of me leaving. So after much crying and clinging I never did make it back to the gym for a cardio workout. I stayed with them for 45 minutes and no amount of bribery worked on Jack. Ewan was fine playing there, but Jack was stuck on me.
We'll keep trying! I'm determined to make this work. I've got a few more tricks up my sleeve....

Updates
So much to update, yet I probably can't remember it all! We all recovered from our stomach bug, thank God!! It was rather unpleasant. So Sunday we had cabin fever and everyone, especially Cosmo, needed to get out of the house. We went for a hike at Sesqui. When I say hike, perhaps it is better explained as a stroll through the woods since both boys walked too. Ewan really dosn't like being in a carrier so we move slowly. Jack had a blast...he got to walk Cosmo (amazingly she behaves for him, if Josh or I have her she is a wild beast), he splashed in some major puddles, he peed in the woods AND pooped in the woods (he thought this was WAY COOL, especially since it was yellow poop...which he still talks about)!! Ewan enjoyed nibbling on pinestraw, playing in the sand and roaming around on his own.
Then yesterday for the first time both boys were in a day care situation. I just joined a gym....so they spent some time in the day care room there while I worked out. Needless to say they didn't do so well. They were playing when I left them but apparently Jack started crying right after I left, which got Ewan crying. At least they waited a full 30 minutes before they came to get me so I managed to get some time in on the elliptical machine. We'll just have to keep trying until they get used to it.
After they were "traumatized" at the gym, last night we all went to the USC v. UK basketball game. It didn't start until 9PM so we knew it would be a tricky night. Ewan has been really fussy lately with his teeth anyway, and yesterday Jack was being an extreme two year old. We got to the arena shortly after eight and soon after we sat down Jack was already crying to go to bed. Not a good sign. Luckily once the game began it caught his attention and he did better. For a while both boys were very excited and having a great time, but then there were the fussy, whiny, tired moments. We managed to make it til the very beginning of the second half...better off anyway since UK went on to lose!
That's life around here for now. HECTIC...this teething and two year old behavior are driving me insane. Luckily I can escape to the gym now, once they get used to the day care there. Good for my mental and physical shape!!!
